MOROCCO WILL INCREASE THE POWER OF THE ECOWAS

Considered one of the powerhouses of the economy of the african continent, Morocco will soon be more of a country member of Ecowas, the economic community of West African States. It is undeniable how much this integration is important to strengthen economic relations and diplomatic among its 15 participating countries, and major shopping centers, such as the United States and the European Union.

The entry of Morocco in this economic group not only amplifies the power of the block, as it injects new projections in the global scenario. The country’s moroccan topped the best economy in Africa for its diversification, investing heavily in the commercial sector, business and banking. In addition, it brings in the phosphate, an important component to agriculture, other call-to-action in its development, seeking to promote the so-called “green revolution” in Africa. Certainly the 15 countries that comprise Ecowas will gain a strong ally for negotiations with the world’s economical market, for which reason the Chamber of Commerce, Development and Integration Brazil – Ecowas (CCBE) has already started the introduction of the projects that is developing in the block to the representative of Morocco in Brazil, his Excellency Ambassador Nabil Adghoghi.

Considering that Ecowas has a function similar to that of Mercosur, here in South America, we can say that Brazil may also be able to benefit from this accession of Morocco to the economic bloc. This is because the organization is aligning an agreement of free trade with the moroccans, which will increase significantly the representativeness of Brazil in Africa and in other arab countries.
