Director-General of the IMF expected in Cotonou

The director-general of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Christine Lagarde, is expected this Sunday in Cotonou for an official visit of four work days, it was learned on this end of semanaz with the Ministry beninense of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.

During their stay of four days in Cotonou, Lagarde will be received in audience by the President beninense, Patrice Talon, and will meet with the actors of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Benin.

She will inaugurate the Office Renewed the IMF in Cotonou and visit the headquarters of the Association for the Protection of Children called the “Land of Men”.

The Benin and the IMF maintain good relations of cooperation, taking this last made available recently, around 22 million us dollars, with the aim of helping this country to improve the business environment and promote private sector participation in the economy, in particular by addressing the obstacles and gasrantindo an equality of opportunities for investors.

This funding amounts to 25 billion CFA francs (or us $ 45.1 million americans) the volume of financial support, the title of the funding program triennial established by the IMF, for the good of Benin since February of 2017.
